Director Doug Liman has officially signed onto direct the film All You Need Is Kill, a project he was reportedly circling two months ago, according to Variety.

We reported back in April that Warner Bros. had acquired the rights to the Hiroshi Sakurazaka 2004 novel, which Dante Harper is adapting for the silver screen. You can read a description of the novel below:

"There's one thing worse than dying. It's coming back to do it again and again... When the alien Gitai invade, Keiji Kiriya is just one of many raw recruits shoved into a suit of battle armor and sent out to kill. Keiji dies on the battlefield, only to find himself reborn each morning to fight and die again and again. On the 158th iteration though, he sees something different, something out of place: the female soldier known as the Bitch of War. Is the Bitch the key to Keiji's escape, or to his final death?"

Doug Liman had previously signed on to direct The Three Musketeers for Warner Bros., although now that film has been delayed since The Three Musketeers 3D has already started production with Paul W.S. Anderson directing.

We'll be sure to keep you posted with any further details on All You Need Is Kill as soon as we have more information.
