Dragon Ball is attempting to set a Guinness World Record at San Diego Comic-Con. The 2019 World Adventure opens on Wednesday July 17th at an expansive installation on the Marriott Marina Terrace at the Marriot Marquis San Diego. The tour will continue throughout San Diego from July 18th to July 21st and will be open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The goal? To become the largest gathering of people simultaneously performing the iconic Kamehameha super energy attack move.
Following San Diego Comic-Con, the 2019 Dragon Ball World Adventure will travel to seven additional locations around the world including stops in New York City, Mexico City Mexico, Cologne Germany, Barcelona Spain, Shanghai China, Hong Kong China, and Tokyo Japan. Toei Animation wants as many fans as possible to help back Dragon Ball history, which shouldn't be too difficult with Comic-Con going on at the same time. With that being said, there's always so much to do at Comic-Con, so there will be some competition.
Fans are expected to gather on Wednesday, July 17th at 3:30 PM at the 2019 Dragon Ball World Adventure on the Marriott Marina Terrace. The first 1,000 participants to arrive on time will receive a free Dragon Ball Scouter accessory to wear during the Guinness World Records attempt. The Kamehameha super energy attack move will be led by actor Sean Schemmel, the English voice of Dragon Ball character Goku. Guinness World Records will be onsite to supervise and validate the record attempt to make sure everything goes according to plan.
Additionally, fans will be able to dive into the world of Dragon Ball with an expansive collection of multi-faceted interactive installations. Fans will also be able to capture their visit to 2019 Dragon Ball World Adventure with a unique and shareable complimentary memento via the Dragon Ball Animated GIF Photo Booth. If that wasn't enough, there will also be collectibles and exclusive merchandise on hand for the more hardcore fans. But wait, there's even more! Fans can collect stickers at each attraction inside the Dragon Ball World Adventure. Stickers may be redeemed for free premiums including Dragon Ball wristbands, posters, lanyards, stickers, fans and Saiyan Hair Set headbands.
Toei Animation is going for it this year at San Diego Comic-Con and Dragon Ball fans will be able to be a part of history. In Japanese, "Kamehameha" is translated to "Turtle Destruction Wave," which is a nod to Master Roshi and his abilities. Fans from all over the world will take part in the event and perform the move at the same time. This should all be very interesting to see of Toei Animation is able to pull off this amazing feat. We'll just have to wait and see, but it looks like the excitement is already starting to build, thanks to the official Toei Animation Twitter account.
