Yesterday, we brought you the first trailer for the new animated series titled Dragon Ball Super, which debuts this summer in Japan. If that wasn't enough to tide you over, we now have the first poster courtesy of AnimeNewsNetwork, and it offers a look at the series' new villains. They appear to have a connection to Lord Beerus and Whis. Beyond that, we don't have any clue what it means for the actual show.

This poster for Dragon Ball Super gives us a look at all the main characters, including Son Goku, Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Vegeta, and Picollo. They are joined by two mysterious characters suspected to be the villains. Is it a bit of misdirection? Or are these two versions of Beerus and Whis that have gone bad? We'll have to wait until Dragon Ball Super hits U.S. shores to find out.

Toei Animation's Dragon Ball Super will be the first all-new Dragon Ball television series to be released in 18 years. Following the recent events of the hit feature film, Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F, Dragon Ball Super will debut in Japan on July 5, 2015. Reuniting the franchise's iconic characters, Dragon Ball Super will follow the aftermath of Goku's fierce battle with Majin Buu, as he attempts to maintain earth's fragile peace. Overseen by Dragon Ball's original creator, Akira Toriyama and produced with Fuji Television, Dragon Ball Super will draw on its historic past to create a bold, new universe welcoming to fans and endearing to new viewers. Introduced as a manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1984, Dragon Ball has evolved into a globally beloved brand. Seen in more than 70 countries, with over 230 million copies of its comic books sold, Dragon Ball remains one of the most popular anime series of all time. Take a look at the poster, and then check back as more on the series will probably hit closer to the July 5 release date.
