It earned another $12 million overseas, putting it above $32.1 million worldwide.

It previously had a theatrical run in Japan where it pulled in the equivalent of $4.99 million with its first two days of screenings. News of an English version coming stateside was announced by Crunchyroll at San Diego Comic-Con. In Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Piccolo and his former student Gohan go on a mission to save the world from the Red Ribbon Army.

Another movie making its debut this weekend wound up falling in second place, even with A-lister Idris Elba in the lead role.
