DreamWorks has bought an original screenplay from J. Michael Straczynski entitled Voices From the Dead. The story centers on magician Harry Houdini and Sherlock Holmes creator Arthur Conan Doyle teaming up to solve murder mysteries in New York City.

Harry Houdini and Arthur Conan Doyle did have an actual relationship in the 1920s, becoming friends after arguing about the existence of supernatural beings. J. Michael Straczynski's script creates a fictional account of that friendship, which features the duo solving murders in the Depression-era New York along with a psychic.

No production schedule was released for Voices From the Dead and it doesn't seem that a director is attached yet.
