According to Variety, DreamWorks has acquired the novel How Opal Mehta Got Kissed, Got Wild and Got a Life, with Contrafilm and Alloy Entertainment onboard to produce.

The tome, to be published in April by Little, Brown, was penned by Kavvya Viswanathan. Actress-turned-scribe Kara Holden will adapt.

The story follows the title character, whose life has been driven by one goal: being admitted to Harvard. But when her admissions interview goes south and her future seems to be slipping, Opal is forced to re-examine her choices.
