DreamWorks Pictures has acquired a comedy pitch for a new project entitled Las Madres, which will be written by Lona Williams (Drop Dead Gorgeous).

The story centers on three friends who have all recently become unemployed. They band together to try and track down and capture a dangerous criminal to land the reward money, instead of looking for new jobs in today's troubling economic market.

Scott Stuber is producing for DreamWorks. No production schedule has been released at this time.

Lona Williams started her career as an assistant on The Simpsons and Roseanne, before breaking through with her screenplay for Drop Dead Gorgeous. She also wrote additional dialogue for the DreamWorks Animation comedy Shark Tale, and served as a writer and executive story editor on The Drew Carey Show.
