Lionsgate has released a new featurette for Dredd 3D, director Pete Travis' upcoming adaptation of the popular comic book series. Karl Urban stars as the title character, who tries to get rid of a dangerous new drug called Slo-Mo, which is being distributed by Lena Headey's Ma-Ma Madrigal. The drug makes users experience life at a fraction of its normal speed. Achieving the effects of this drug for the silver screen requires shooting with an incredibly fast frame rate, upwards of 4,000 frames per second, as opposed to the industry standard 24 FPS. Take a look at this video where Karl Urban, screenwriter Alex Garland, and several other crew members discuss what it takes to give viewers the ultimate Slo-Mo experience.
