Though it first debuted in 1987, DuckTales went onto garner a huge fan base that encompassed all age groups as it continued to run throughout the 90s in syndication. DuckTales premiered on September 18, 1987 and ended on November 28, 1990 with a total of three seasons and 100 episodes. An animated theatrical spin-off film based on the series,DuckTales: The Movie - Treasure of The Lost Lamp, was released August 3, 1990.

The series follows the adventures of Scrooge McDuck and his three grandnephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. In most of the stories, the show's villains are after McDuck's fortune or his Number One Dime; and there is often a race after some sort of treasure.
