Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning, the direct-to-video sequel to last years $80 million dollar hit The Dukes of Hazzard, began shooting this past Monday.
In a story from Variety, the movie is being directed by Bob Berlinger whose credits include such shows as Arrested Development and the Gilmore Girls.
April Scott from TV's popular Deal or No Deal will be tackling the Daisy Duke's role that Jessica Simpson portrayed in the theatrical film. Jonathan Bennett and Randy Wayne are handling the Bo and Luke Duke roles that were redone in the film by Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott. Willie Nelson will be returning as Uncle Jesse.
Chris McDonald will fill in for Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg while Sherilyn Fenn has come on board as Lulu Hogg.
In this new film the Duke brothers jailed and then released under the supervision of their Uncle Jesse. Boss Hogg again has it in for them as he is trying to put Jesse's farm out of business.
