Just as the caption alongside the poster claims, the main players of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves certainly look ready for anything that comes their way. This is the second poster promoting the movie to be released this week, suggesting that Paramount is ready to ramp up the marketing in anticipation of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ release next March.

Leading the ensemble cast of characters, Chris Pine (Wonder Woman, Star Trek Beyond) stars as Elgin, a Bard, who possesses an affinity for shredding on a lute. Which could come in handy during battle...maybe. Pine will be supported on this epic quest by the likes of Michelle Rodriguez (the Fast and Furious franchise) as Holga, a Barbarian; Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton, The Gray Man) as Xenk, a Paladin; Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) as Simon, a Sorcerer; Sophia Lillis (It, It Chapter Two) as Doric, a thieving Druid; and Hugh Grant (The Gentlemen) as Forge Fletcher, a Rogue. The rest of the supporting cast includes Chloe Coleman, Jason Wong, Sophia Eleni, and Daisy Head.

"A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people,” the official synopsis for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves reads. “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure."

Co-written and directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, a filmmaking duo most famous for Game Night, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will attempt to capture the same magic as the hugely popular game, leaping from near-death battles to humorous shenanigans. "You know what? We tried to capture the spirit of what it is to play a D&D game, which is life and death stakes one minute, and then you're laughing your heads off the next,” Goldstein teased. “That's what this movie hopefully is."

So, while it won’t be a straight-up comedy, audiences can expect a lot more laughs than they perhaps anticipated. "To me, it all comes down to tone. Right? I think the tone that you want to hit is that thing where you're just like, you're having this fun, fun, fun time, and you're getting hit in the heart all the time, over and over again, and you see stuff you've never seen before. That's what these guys do so well,” producer Jeremy Latcham explained.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is scheduled to be released in the United States on March 31, 2023, by Paramount Pictures.
