Actor Dwayne Johnson has joined the cast of The Monster Hunter's Survival Guide for producer Simon Kinberg and his Genre Films company.

The project is based John Paul Russ' graphic novel series, which gives readers comprehensive instructions on how to track down and slay various monsters. The series is published by Zenescope Entertainment. It doesn't seem that a writer is attached to adapt the project quite yet.

Dwayne Johnson is currently filming G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation, where he portrays Roadblock. After that Paramount sequel wraps, the actor will move on to Snitch, Ric Roman Waugh's drama about a father (Dwayne Johnson) who agrees to go undercover in prison to try and bust a drug kingpin. If he succeeds, his son will receive a lighter sentence.

No production schedule was given for The Monster Hunter's Survival Guide.
