When Dwayne Johnson isn’t playing a movie tough guy, then he’s having a bit of fun on social media with puppets. The Rock brought his A-game to an old dispute between Sesame Street characters Elmo, Zoe and her pet rock Rocco, and it looks like someone is about to tell him how to get to Sesame Street for a furry SmackDown. In his post, Johnson replied to a Tweet on Elmo’s account that referenced a 2004 episode of the long-running children’s show in which Elmo became infuriated that he couldn’t eat a cookie because Zoe wanted to feed it to her pet rock. Before we get to The Rock’s latest comments, here is how it all started.

Clearly, after almost two decades, Elmo still hasn’t managed to get of that cookie, posting on Twitter, “Has anybody ever seen a rock eat a cookie? Elmo is just curious.” Johnson didn’t take long to side with his little red friend and threatened to make his way down to the friendly little neighborhood for a cookie showdown. He wrote:

“Yes, my friend. This Rock devours cookies. All kinds of cookies. I’ll introduce you to #CheatMeals and it’ll change your life. Tell Cookie Monster to move it over, cuz I’m coming to Sesame Street to kick ass and eat cookies. And I’m almost all outta cookies. Rock”

While Johnson is busy with his hectic filming schedule and barely seems to have time to draw breath these days, his tweet instigated a response from Cookie Monster, who seemed more than willing to give The Rock a run for his money in the cookie eating stakes. The blue muncher said, “Me say cookie challenge ACCEPTED!!!” The internet is a wondrous place sometimes, and this is certainly one of them.

Dwayne Johnson Is Ready To Rock The DCEU With Black Adam

Dwayne Johnson Shares Reaction to Black Adam First Cut

In the last few years, Johnson has seemingly never been too far away from another new multimillion-dollar project, with the revived Jumanji series, Rampage, Jungle Cruise and Red Notice, to name a few, Johnson’s next big movie is his summer blockbuster Black Adam. The DC movie will bring The Rock to the DCEU and he has been very vocal in telling anyone that will listen that his character is going to “disrupt the hierarchy” of the franchise and having been in development for around a decade, it has been a long time coming.

“Look, there’s a reason why Black Adam, we had been developing over 10 years, right?” producer Hiram Garcia recently said. “It’s like some things come fast, some things don’t, but it’s our job in this business to make sure we continue to keep all of them developing, and they’ll hatch when they’re ready. When they’re ready, that’s when we give it to the world and go.”

In addition to Black Adam, Johnson has also lent his voice to the animated film DC League of Super-Pets, in which he voices Superman’s dog Krypto, and he will soon be filming the Christmas movie Red One for Amazon, for which he had reportedly been paid $50 million. With his Tweet today, Johnson has at least proved that even the biggest stars in the world could take a little time out to banter with a couple of Muppets about cookies.
