After conquering the action genre, Dwayne Johnson is moving into a more dramatic role, signing on to star in the upcoming adaptation Noth Without Hope.
The project is based on Nick Schuyler's 2010 memoir, which recounts his harrowing fight for survival during a boat trip gone bad. In 2009, former football player Nick Schuyler set off on a fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico with NFL players Marquis Cooper, Corey Smith and Schuyler's best friend Will Bleakley, when their boat capsized. The fought to survive for days, battling hypothermia while they waited for help to arrive. Dwayne Johnson will play Nick Schuyler in the adaptation.
Here's what Nick Schuyler, who is now a personal trainer in Tampa, had to say about the project.
"I'm humbled that Relativity was interested in paying tribute to Marquis, Corey and Will, and I was impressed with their vision for the film and how they wanted to honor how these guys lived and loved their families, friends and teammates."
