E! Entertainment has paid close to forty million dollars for the broadcast rights to Judd Apatow's comedy Knocked Up, which only makes sense. One of the main characters in the film, played by Kathryn Heigl, works for E! as a news correspondent. According to Variety, this is the biggest program purchase in the history of the cable channel.

The deal made with NBC Universal Domestic also includes the films Evan Almighty, Man of the Year, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Miami Vice, Because I Said So, Pride & Prejudice, Georgia Rule and the direct-to-DVD sequel Bring It On: All or Nothing.

Knocked Up will premier in October of 2009. E! negotiated a rare four-year- exclusive contract so that no other network, broadcaster or cable channel, could air the title from 2009-13.
