It seems that Kenny Powers is indeed coming back to HBO, although we'll be seeing him south of the border. Deadline New York is reporting that the second season of Eastbound & Down will star production on its second season next month in Puerto Rico, which will stand in for Mexico.

The site also reports that actors Michael Peña and Ana de la Reguera have signed on as series regulars. The second season will be set in Mexico, with Danny McBride's Kenny Powers heading south to escape his problems, where he joins a local Mexican baseball team. Pena will play Powers' friend, and owner of his new baseball team while de la Reguera will play his new love interest.

It was said that, aside from McBride, hardly any actors from the first season will appear in the second season, with the exception of Steve Little, whose Stevie Janowski character tracks Powers down in Mexico. It was also said that casting has begun for the role of Powers' father.

A release date for the second season wasn't immediately known, but we'll be sure to keep you posted on any further details on the second season of Eastbound & Down as soon as we have more information.
