From Vertical Entertainment, we have the first trailer for Edge of Winter. The movie will come as some interest to superhero fans, as it pairs two actors from the world of Marvel and DC Comics. Headlining this intense thriller is Joel Kinnaman, who stars as Rick Flagg in Suicide Squad this August. And co-starring in the movie is Tom Holland, who made his debut appearance as Peter Parker in this summer's Captain America: Civil and will return next summer as the title character in Spider-Man: HomeComing.

Also starring in this drama are Percy Hynes White, Rachelle Lefevre, Shiloh Fernandez and Rossif Sutherland. The thriller was directed by Rob Connolly. It will be hitting theaters on August 12th. But first, fans can catch it on VOD July 26th via Vertical Entertainment. Along with the first look footage, we also have the first poster.

In the film, two brothers get stuck in a severe winter storm with a father they barely know, and soon realize that the man responsible for keeping them safe might be their biggest threat. The movie was co-written by director Rob Connolly and Kyle Mann. The film marks Connolly's feature film debut after producing the cult favorite comedy Teen Lust alongside Kyle Mann. Mann also makes his debut as a screenwriter with this project.

Recently divorced and laid off from his job, Elliot Baker (Joel Kinnaman) is desperate to spend more time bonding with his sons, Bradley (Tom Holland) and Caleb (Percy Hynes White).  What starts as family day trip to teach his boys how to shoot turns into a nightmare when they become stranded.  As they retreat to a desolate cabin, Elliot's mounting fear of losing custody pushes him to the edge.  The brothers quickly realize that the man responsible for keeping them safe has now become their biggest threat.

Edge of Winter will arrive just one after Joel Kinnamen's Suicide Squad hits theaters.That DC Comics adventure should continue to dominate the box office, with this release facing other new competition in a packed weekend that marks the end of summer. It will be going toe-to-toe with the Ben-Hur remake, Disney's Pete's Dragon remake, the R-Rated animated comedy Sausage Party from Seth Rogen, and Meryl Streep in Florence Foster Jenkins.
