With a recent resurgence in popularity, collectors are shelling out to get their hands on Johnny Depp movie props. Per TMZ, a "scissorhand" used by Depp in the Tim Burton classic Edward Scissorhands was recently put up for auction where it was expected to sell for about $30,000 to $50,000. The prop ultimately sold for $81,250, much higher than those early estimates.Reportedly, the results of Depp's recent defamation trial with ex-wife Amber Heard further increased the interest in the Edward Scissorhands auction. Depp essentially clearing his name with a jury deeming the domestic violence allegations against him to be "false and defamatory" also means that big roles will likely soon be coming Depp's way, and it's inevitable that he'll be back on the big screen in starring roles soon enough. No longer "canceled," Depp is back on the rise, and that only makes props used by the actor in past films considered more valuable.Other props used by Depp in feature films have been going up for auction. It was recently announced that Depp's motorcycle featured in Cry-Baby will soon hit the auction block as well. The bike, which comes with all of its parts to theoretically be used by its buyer, will be selling for much higher than the scissorhand. Its minimum bid is $250,000, and potential buyers will need to place bids in $25,000 increments.Related: Here's Why Pirates of the Caribbean Needs Johnny Depp and Jack Sparrow

It has been more than three decades, but fans still remember Edward Scissorhands fondly as one of Johnny Depp's most memorable roles of his career. It still gets talked about a lot and the film had even gotten a recent mention in the press from Amber Heard following the defamation trial. In a Today interview with Savannah Guthrie, Heard was asked about Depp's lawyer accusing her of putting on a "performance" with her testimony.

"Says the lawyer for the man who convinced the world he had scissors for fingers?" shot back Heard.

Tim Burton directed Edward Scissorhands and crafted the story with screenwriter Caroline Thompson. The film follows an artificial humanoid man who lives with scissor blades in place of his hands; trouble ensues when he is taken in by a neighboring family with their teenage daughter falling in love with him. Along with Depp, the film stars Winona Ryder, Dianne Wiest, Anthony Michael Hall, and Vincent Price.

While the film was never given an official sequel, a Super Bowl ad from last year brought back Ryder to reprise her role as Kim Boggs. The ad, promoting the Cadillac Lyriq, introduced Timothee Chalamet as Edgar, Edward and Kim's son. It was a fun acknowledgment of the original movie, but most fans were insistent that it shouldn't result in a sequel or reboot, considering the original Edward Scissorhands to be perfect and untouchable.
