According to The Hollywood Reporter, Elizabeth Banks has signed to appear opposite Mark Wahlberg in Walt Disney Pictures' Invincible, a film based on a Philadelphia Eagles fan who went to the team's open tryout and ended up making the squad.

Cinematographer Ericson Core will make his directorial debut on the film, which is being produced by Mayhem Pictures' Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray, as well as Ken Mok.

Wahlberg already is set as the fan, a teacher who loses his wife and job and winds up trying out for the team. Banks will play his love interest, a bartender who roots for the Eagles' arch-rivals, the New York Giants.
