Actress Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost, V) has joined the cast of NBC's new fall drama show Revolution as a series regular.

She will play Rachel Matheson, the mother of Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) and Danny (Graham Rogers) who is terrified of the new world her children inhabit, in the aftermath of worldwide electrical outage. Her character will appear in flashbacks throughout the series.

The actress replaces Andrea Roth, who played the role in the pilot episode, directed by Jon Favreau. Daniella Alonso has also joined the cast as the rebel fighter Nora. Billy Burke, Giancarlo Esposito, and Tim Guinee also star.

The series was created by J.J. Abrams (Lost) and Supernatural creator Eric Kripke. We reported in June that the series will premiere Monday, September 17 at 8 PM ET on NBC.
