Elizabeth Olsen has been involved with the Marvel Cinematic Universe for several years now, first appearing in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron. Her character Scarlet Witch has been a hero, anti-hero, and villain throughout the franchise. After WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, fans are eager for what the future has in store for the character. In an interview with Good Morning America, Olsen expressed her hope for joining the MCU's X-Men.

Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios, has already revealed that the beloved superhero team will be a part of the film series. A release date for any upcoming X-Men projects has not been released. However, the heroes are expected to come back to the big screen at some point in the near future. Recently, Patrick Stewart reprised his role as Charles Xavier, the head of the X-Men, in the Doctor Strange sequel.

However, the version of the character in the MCU was from a different universe than the one in the 20th Century Fox movies. Due to character rights, Scarlet Witch could not be a part of the Fox franchise. Given that the character is a mutant in the comics, she would be a natural fit for any X-Men project. With the purchase of 20th Century Fox by Disney, the possibility now exists for Olsen's character to interact with the X-Men.

Olsen explained, "If we're bringing X-Men back, I wanna be there!"

She was quick to add, "I have no actual plans yet. I am very excited to talk with Kevin [Feige] about that at some point."

While she hopes to be a part of upcoming X-Men titles, nothing has been announced yet regarding her potential involvement.

In the comics, Scarlet WItch, along with her brother Quicksilver, originally appeared as enemies to the X-Men. However, the two eventually decided to turn to the side of the mutant heroes. While she never officially joined the team, the hero has been a significant factor in many of their stories. The character development is similar to the one in the second Avengers film, as Wanda, aka Scarlet Witch, was originally a villain who ended up fighting alongside superheroes instead of against them.

In the comics, Wanda has a connection with the X-Men, because her father Magneto is the team's archenemy. While her MCU counterpart's father is just a normal citizen, there is still potential for Magneto to show up and possibly interact with Scarlet Witch. Given that Quicksilver also has a relationship with the team, an alternate version of the hero could also appear in an X-Men motion picture.

Previously, when speaking to The New York Times, Olsen talked about wanting to reprise her role. She said, "I think I would. But it really needs to be a good story. I think these films are best when it's not about creating content, but about having a very strong point of view - not because you need to have a three picture plan."

She wants the right story to be written for her to come back as the Scarlet Witch. Potentially, the project could involve appearing alongside fellow mutants.
