The site FilmSchoolRejects.com recently interviewed author/screenwriter Shauna Cross, whose roller derby novel Derby Girl is being turned into a feature film dubbed Whip It from her adapted screenplay, with Drew Barrymore, making her feature film directorial debut. Cross happened to do a little name drop... kind of... about the casting of this movie.

Any word on casting for the movie?

Shauna Cross: Rumor is the lead could be played by an actress whose name rhymes with "Shmellen Shmage." (Translates to: Ellen Page?)
