Elodie Yung, who portrayed Jinx in last year's G.I. Joe Retaliation, has signed on to star in Gods of Egypt.

The plot follows Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), whose father was killed by his uncle Set (Gerard Butler), the god of the Sun. He sets out on a journey to avenge his father's death, with the help of a common thief named Bex (Brenton Thwaites), who is in love with a slave girl named Zaya (Courtney Eaton). Elodie Yung is portraying the Egyptian goddess of joy and wisdom, Hathor, with Geoffrey Rush also starring as Set and Osiris' father, Ra.

Alex Proyas is directing from a script he co-wrote with Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama. Basil Iwanyk is producing through his Thunder Road production company, although it isn't known when production will begin.

Elodie Yung's other credits include District 13 Ultimatum and the upcoming 10 Things I Hate About Life.
