With Alan Taylor in talks in to direct the sci-fi sequel Terminator 5, the casting process is currently under way to find the new John and Sarah Connor.

Today we have a report that actresses Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Brie Larson (Short Term 12) and Margot Robbie (About Time) are up for the coveted Sarah Connor role, while Garrett Hedlund (Inside Llewyn Davis) and Boyd Holbrook (Out of the Furnace) are in contention to play John Connor.

What's interesting is that the male and female actors being considering for this mother-son duo are all roughly the same age, which could hint that there are several time jumps within the sequel.

Back in June, an unconfirmed report revealed that the story would take place in the late 1940s or early 1950s, with Arnold Schwarzenegger playing a human sent back to protect Sarah Connor's parents, before she was even born, causing the machines to create future Terminators in this protector's likeness that were used in the original Terminator trilogy.

Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier wrote the screenplay, although no story details have been confirmed, and it isn't known when production may begin.
