Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has arrived in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At Disney's D23 Expo, the official trailer for the Disney+ series was released. It had previously been reported that Clarke had been cast in the show in a mystery role, and there have been images taken of her on the set. However, the new Secret Invasion trailer, which you can watch below, revealed our official first look at Clarke in character, though it still remains to be told who exactly she's playing.

In any case, fans are thrilled to see Clarke's presence in the MCU. The trailer may only show a glimpse of what's to come from Clarke in Secret Invasion, but it's enough to get Clarke's name trending on social media. That Clarke is getting so much attention on her casting even without any new details on her character revealed goes to show how long the fans have been eager to see the Game of Thrones favorite come to the MCU.

Clarke is not the only name coming into the MCU with Secret Invasion. The new trailer also gives us a look at Olivia Colman making her MCU debut. We can also see other returning MCU stars, such as Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill and Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross. Also featured in the film are Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, and Don Cheadle as War Machine, while Kingsley Ben-Adir, Christopher McDonald, and Carmen Ejogo will appear as new characters.

We know that Emilia Clarke is coming into the MCU with Secret Invasion, but how long can we expect to see her sticking around? If it's up to Clarke, she'll continue to be featured in future Marvel projects well beyond this new series. After her casting was announced, Clarke told THR last year that she's willing to spend a decade in the franchise, feeling that she'd be very lucky if that's something that ends up happening.

"I mean, I should be so lucky is what I'll say to that," Clarke said. "Everyone I know and everyone I've spoken to who is a part of the Marvel universe - and actors talk! Everyone has only the highest praise to offer. There's a reason why actors stay in it. They're so loved because they're having loads of fun. So I'm down for that."

Secret Invasion is expected to arrive on Disney+ in early 2023.
