Initial reports out of Iron Man 2 suggested that Emily Blunt was poised to leap in to Marvel's film universe by taking on the role of Russian superspy/superhero Natasha Romanov, aka the Black Widow. Later on, word came out that the actress had to give up the role due to a shooting conflict with Gulliver's Travels. Now, Blunt has spoken to MTV about having to give up the part in Iron Man 2.

"It was one of things that was conflicting," Blunt said. "So it's a shame the two of them couldn't work together. It just got complicated, so I think I had to pull out for my own sanity more than anything."

Although Blunt is no longer a part of Iron Man 2, she remained secretive about the storyline of the film."See, that's the other thing, I can't give anything away on that front," she said. "I'm not going to say! I'm not going to say! I'm going to get someone in trouble. Look at me, I'm such a goody-two-shoes!"

Iron Man 2, directed by Jon Favreau, will continue the tale of Tony Stark and his armored alter-ego as he continues his transformation from billionaire industrialist to super-hero. Robert Downey, Jr. will star as Tony Stark, with Paltrow returning in the role of his assistant Pepper Potts. Don Cheadle, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson also star. Iron Man 2 blasts into theatres May 7, 2010.
