The Devil Wears Prada's Emily Blunt is set to star in The Young Victoria with Martin Scorsese co-producing, according to Variety.

Filmmaker Jean-Marc Vallee (C.R.A.Z.Y.) will direct the historical film chronicling the turbulent early years of Queen Victoria's rule and her romance with Prince Albert.

Academy Award-winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park) wrote the script, while Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson introduced the project to co-producer Graham King. No studio is yet attached.

King said Blunt is "perfect to play this feisty, passionate young woman who went on to have nine children with the love of her life, Prince Albert."
