Variety reports that Emily Watson, David Wenham and Hugo Weaving have come aboard director Jim Loach's directorial debut Oranges and Sunshine.

The film will tell the true story of Margaret Humphreys. She was "a British social worker who in 1987 discovered that the government had secretly deported thousands of children in child protective services from the U.K. to Australia."

The screenplay was written by Rona Munro and it was adapted from Humphreys' book "Empty Cradles."
