Emma Stone is in negotiations to play the lead in writer-director Woody Allen's next comedy project, which is currently untitled.

No story details have been released at this time, and it is not known when the project will go into production. The filmmaker is putting the finishing touches on his latest movie, Blue Jasmine, which stars Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett, Louis C.K., Michael Stuhlbarg, Peter Sarsgaard, Bobby Cannavale, Alden Ehrenreich, and Sally Hawkins. Sony Pictures Classics is releasing the comedy on July 26.

Emma Stone is currently shooting The Amazing Spider-Man 2. She is also set to star in Alejandro González Iñárritu's Birdman, Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak, and the Untitled Cameron Crowe Project. The actress can currently be heard providing the voice of Eep in the DreamWorks Animation comedy The Croods.
