Emma Watson is in discussions to star in director Darren Aronofsky's Biblical epic Noah.

The actress will play Ila, a young woman who strikes up a relationship with the title character's son, Shem. Russell Crowe is playing Noah, and we reported earlier this week that Douglas Booth and Logan Lerman will play his sons, Shem and Ham. Noah's nemesis still has to be cast, and Jennifer Connelly is still in talks to play the ark-builder's wife.

Darren Aronofsky is directing from a script he co-wrote with Ari Handel. Paramount and New Regency are both producing and co-financing the project.

It isn't known when production will start.
