20th Century Fox Television and New Regency Television are teaming up to develop an event series based on the 215 Ink comic book Enormous. New Regency TV's Andrew Plotkin and Prime Universe Films' Adrian Askarieh will serve as executive producers on the series, with the search currently under way for a showrunner. The comic book series was originally created by Tim Daniel and Mehdi Cheggour, which served as the basis for a live-action short film written by André Øvredal (Trollhunter) and directed by BenDavid Grabinski.

The comic book is set in the near future as the world suffers from a "planetary resource crisis," which leads to an ecological disaster that spawns The Enormous, incredibly large creatures unlike anything the Earth has ever seen. Now these beasts sit atop the food chain as humanity struggles to survive. The plot centers on a former school teacher named Ellen Grace, who leads an expedition into the city after losing everything in the uprising. She goes on a quest to find orphaned children, but discovers that not all of the survivors are seeking salvation.

After debuting as a massive graphic novel in 2012, the comic book series debuted in July 2014, repeatedly selling out each day of release through the first six issues. The show doesn't have a network lined up at this time, and it isn't known who will be writing the scripts yet either. Naturally, the show will have to operate on a fairly large budget, especially with all the CGI work it will take to bring these gargantuan creatures to life. We'll have to wait and see what network picks up the series, so stay tuned for more updates.
