Eric Bogosian has signed on to star in next season' of the NBC crime drama, Law & Order: Criminal Intent as a regular.

He will play the police captain, originated by Jamey Sheridan, who left the show in May after playing Capt. James Deakins for five seasons, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The new season of Law & Order: Criminal Intent will air in the fall on NBC.
