Erica Durance has the challenging task of being the latest actress to take on the role of Lois Lane, arguably the most significant woman in the Superman mythology. Durance plays Lois on the CW's Smallville, and she recently talked to TV Guide about what we can expect to see from Lois in the show's eighth season.

Some highlights from the interview include the fact that Durance knows she will be appearing in no less than 13 episodes this season, although they haven't yet told her exactly how many. Durance also says that Lois gets to become more of the journalistic wonder that Superman fans are familiar with. This season we'll see a lot more of Lois investigating big stories (both with and without Clark), and it will become obvious that Lois is really good at her job, and doesn't just have the position at the Daily Planet due to luck or romantic relationships.

We'll also see the relationship between Lois and Clark evolve. Their business relationship will be a huge factor, with them both working as partners and as rivals, and we'll also see more of the romance blossoming between them. That said, despite earlier reports of a kiss between the two in Episode 5 Committed, that kiss has been cut from the final shooting script. However, while there is no kiss, Lois does reveal her feelings for Clark in that episode.
