Ethan Hawke is teaming up with director Andrew Niccol once again for an untitled thriller set within the world of drone pilots.

The actor will portray a troubled pilot based out of Las Vegas, who spends 12 hours a day operating drones, coming home to a bickering wife and children for the rest of his day. He begins to question his mission, and whether or not his work fighting the Taliban is actually creating more terrorists than the ones he kills via remote control every day.

It isn't known if Andrew Niccol wrote the screenplay, but since he has written all of his films in the past, it seems likely he is handling the scripting duties. Nicolas Chartier and Zev Foreman are producing for Voltage Pictures, which is handling sales at the American Film Market next month. Production is slated to begin in February 2014.

Ethan Hawke previously starred in Andrew Niccol's Gattaca and Lord of War. The actor most recently starred in Before Midnight, The Purge and Getaway, and he recently wrapped production on Cymbeline. Andrew Niccol is coming off the sci-fi adaptation The Host.
