Evan Rachel Wood has signed on to play opposite Michael Douglas in the indie comedy flick, The King of California.

The teen will play the daughter of Michael Douglas in the directorial debut of Michael Cahill. Variety reports the story revolves around a teenage girl and her eccentric father, who is obsessed with finding buried treasure in the San Fernando Valley.

The King of California is scheduled to begin shooting next week in Los Angeles; a 2007 release is set.
