We have an idea of how Evan Rachel Wood will sound as Madonna in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. In the works at The Roku Channel, the film is not a traditional biopic as it will reimagine Yankovic as very different from how he was in real life. Daniel Radcliffe plays "Weird Al" Yankovic while several notable stars will appear in supporting roles, including Wood as the "Material Girl" singer. In a new interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Wood explained how she was apprehensive when the role first was offered to her. The Westworld star says that she wouldn't want to play Madonna in a full-on biopic but was intrigued by playing her in a comedy that's not meant to be taken quite so seriously. But even with the film being satirical, Wood will put in the work to mimic Madonna. She noted how she was specifically looking to replicate how Madonna sounded in the early 1980s. Wood then channeled her Madonna voice and explained the rest of her answer in character, saying:

"It was a specific Madonna. It's early 80s Madonna, and early 80s Madonna, you know, she was very nasally, and everything she said was very intentional. And, she disarms everyone that interviews her by just sort of looking at them."

Wood also revealed that she feels a bit awkward about the role because Madonna wasn't informed about it beforehand. She says that she had presumed the production had cleared Wood's casting with Madonna prior to filming, but halfway through production, Wood happened to learn that no one had told her. Of course, Madonna has most likely learned about the casting by now, but she hasn't addressed it, as she's busy focusing on her own biopic that may star Julia Garner. You can watch the Madonna voice reveal below, with that moment coming at around the 5:08 mark.

That wasn't all. Wood also took part in a Tonight Show segment where she impersonated various singers in action, and this includes performing as Madonna. Her rendition of "Material Girl" prompted applause from the audience, and she followed this up with well-received impressions of Alanis Morrisette and Janis Joplin.

Evan Rachel Wood also premiered a new clip on The Tonight Show featuring her return in Westworld season 4. While her character had met her demise in season 3, the writers brought back Wood as an original character who is said to be a human and not a host. But whether that's actually the case, and how there could be this person outside of Westworld who just so happens to look like Dolores, will all have to be explained in the new season.

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story does not have a release date yet but is expected to arrive on The Roku Channel later this year. Season 3 of Westworld will premiere on HBO on June 26.
