Mattel is planning to bring its popular Ever After High toy line to the big screen, working with Cherin Entertainment to develop a theatrical franchise.

Ever After High follows the make-believe teenage sons and daughters of every Fairy Tale character ever conceived. These include Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, The Big Bad Wolf, Goldilocks, King Charming, Rapunzel, the Frog Prince, the Swan Princess, the Pied Piper, Robin Hood, Humpty Dumpty, Little Bo Beep, the Three Little Pigs, and a host of fairy godmothers.

Mattel hopes that Cherin Entertainment can do the same thing for an Ever After High franchise as they have done for the Rise of the Planet of the Apes reboot series.

The storyline of the movie will follow these fairy tale teenagers, who believe they must carry on with their parents' destinies, otherwise the stories will disappear forever. Being teenagers, they struggle with wanting to break out of their parents' shadows.

Ever After High has proven to be a wildly popular toy amongst young girls and boys alike. Jenno Topping will oversee the development process with Peter Chernin set to produce. He was also a producer on Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

An Ever After High animated series is set to debut on Netflix in early 2015. An animated movie titled Spring Unsprung featuring the many characters will premiere sometime before that.
