The multiversal madness of action-comedy-drama Everything Everywhere All at Once continues its monumental success, winning the award for Best Picture at this year’s Critics' Choice Awards. Starring Michelle Yeoh, Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan, Jenny Slate, Harry Shum Jr., James Hong, and Jamie Lee Curtis, Everything Everywhere All at Once quickly became an awards favorite when it landed last year, with the movie winning a total of five Critics Choice awards.

Everything Everywhere All at Once beat out some tough competition in the race for Best Picture, with the absurdist flick being put up against Avatar: The Way of Water, Babylon, The Banshees of Inisherin, Elvis, The Fabelmans, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, RRR, Tár, Top Gun: Maverick, and Women Talking.

As well as winning Best Pictures, Everything Everywhere All at Once walked away from the Critics' Choice Awards with Best Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan, which quickly follows his Golden Globe win, Best Director and Original Screenplay for filmmaking duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, and Best Editing for Paul Rogers.

Other victories on the night include Brendan Fraser, who won Best Actor for his powerful performance in director Darren Aronofsky’s The Whale, and Cate Blanchett, who walked away with the Critics Choice Award for Best Actress for Tár, which charts the downfall of fictional composer and conductor Lydia Tár.

Everything Everywhere All at Once Sends Michelle Yeoh on a Multiverse-Hopping Odyssey

Written and directed by Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, collectively known as The Daniels, Everything Everywhere All at Once stars martial arts legend Michelle Yeoh as Evelyn Wang, a dissatisfied and overwhelmed laundromat owner who simply wants to get her taxes in order.

But before she can even organize her paperwork, Evelyn must first face a threat even bigger than the Internal Revenue Service. She is suddenly dragged into a battle for multiverse, a battle that only she can win, when an interdimensional rupture unravels reality. Evelyn becomes the unlikeliest of heroes as she must connect to alternate versions of herself, channel her newfound powers, and fight bizarre and bewildering dangers from the multiverse as the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

Everything Everywhere All at Once was met with universal acclaim from both critics and audiences alike upon release, and his since been showered with award nominations and wins, as well as becoming the highest grossing release ever for influential studio A24.
