Netflix has released the first full trailer for their new original series Everything Sucks, which will be quite the throwback for those who grew up in the 1990s. And even more so for anyone who grew up anywhere near Boring, Oregon, which we assure you is a very real place. Netflix has also released a new poster, which features the cast sitting on piles of VHS tapes, along with seven new photos from this series featuring a cast full of rising stars. Fans won't have to wait too long to check out this series either, with Netflix rolling out the entire 10-episode season on Friday, February 16.

The 90s high school experience: Desperate, heartfelt, awkward, exciting, and free of smartphones. Set in the real life town of Boring, Oregon in 1996, Everything Sucks! is a quirky, funny coming of age story that revolves around Boring High School's A/V Club and Drama Club, two crews of nerdy-edgy outsiders, who join forces to make a movie and endure the purgatory known as high school. The trailer below is chocked full of 90s references, including three main characters Luke, McQuaid and Tyler, pondering how ridiculous Alanis Morissette's hit song "Ironic" is, especially the lyric "rain on your wedding day."

These characters are all freshmen in high school, who are trying to find the crowd they'll be hanging out with for the next four years, including references to MTV's Beavis and Butt-Head. Since they're all aspiring filmmakers, they decide to join the AV Club, where they meet Kate Messner, the daughter of the high school principal. We also get a glimpse at some of the parents, who don't understand 90s slang like "da bomb" and "all that and a bag of chips." We also get a glimpse at the main kids' films, which feature mock music videos from 90s classic songs like Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit and Blind Melon's Rain.

The series stars Peyton Kennedy (American Fable, The Captive) and Jahi Winston (The New Edition Story) as students Kate Messner and Luke O'Neil, with Patch Darragh (Sully, Boardwalk Empire) and Claudine Nako (Grimm) as their single parents who form a romantic connection at the same time their children do. The cast also includes Rio Mangini as McQuaid, Quinn Liebling as Tyler, Sydney Sweeney as Emaline and Elijah Stevenson as Oliver. The 10-episode, half-hour dramedy is created by Ben York Jones (Like Crazy, Newness) and Michael Mohan (Save the Date, Pink Grapefruit), who will both serve as executive producers.

The series comes in the wake of several new Netflix original shows that have debuted in recent weeks. The futuristic drama series Altered Carbon debuted last weekend, along with the documentary series Coach Snoop, with Marseille debuting on February 23, along with Seven Seconds.
