One of the most anticipated upcoming video games for horror fans is Evil Dead: The Game. Bringing together characters, items, and locations from the entire Evil Dead franchise, the game features Bruce Campbell's voice and likeness for Ash Williams, the Deadite slayer who first showed up in 1981's The Evil Dead, going on to appear in two sequels. His run in the role, at least in live-action, came to an end with the Starz sequel series Ash vs. Evil Dead.

Campbell has since retired from playing Ash, but he's still fond of the character along with the Evil Dead franchise. He's been pretty hands on with the development of the video game, as he wants fans to be completely satisfied with the final result. New information was revealed about the game during a recent showcase for Evil Dead: The Game hosted by Saber Interactive, and Campbell was there to tease what gamers and Evil Dead fans can expect. No matter which version of Ash is any particular fan's favorite, they'll get the chance to play them all in the game, as Campbell explains, as the game will unite every Ash. For his part, Campbell would go with Ash vs. Evil Dead Ash, and he has a solid reason why.

"I would do the old guy. He's got all the experience. The young guy doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. But that's the cool thing about the game. You can play other characters, you can play possessed Ash. So, it really is, whatever your mood is when you play."

Bruce Campbell also kept in mind that he's playing different versions of Ash in the game, so when recording his lines for the voiceovers, he had to present each one a bit differently. The actor also detailed the grueling process of recording voiceovers for video games, as it meant recording death lines for dozens of different ways of dying. That's also a testament to how violent Evil Dead: The Game might be, along with the creativity that comes along with incorporating so many different deaths.

An official description for the game reads, "Step into the shoes of Ash Williams or his friends from the iconic Evil Dead franchise and work together in a game loaded with over-the-top co-op and PVP multiplayer action! Play as a team of four survivors, exploring, looting, managing your fear, and finding key items to seal the breach between worlds in a game inspired by all three original Evil Dead films as well as the Starz original Ash vs Evil Dead television series."

We also know that Dana DeLorenzo and Ray Santiago will be back as Kelly and Pablo, as they will voice the Ash vs. Evil Dead characters in Evil Dead: The Game. Plenty of other surprises are likely to soon be revealed as well, as the next gameplay trailer is promised to arrive in the new year. Evil Dead: The Game is set to arrive in 2022 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
