Jimmy Bennett just turned 10 years old in February of this year, but don't think in the least bit that he's a newcomer to the entertainment world. Just this year, he played opposite Harrison Ford, Virginia Madsen, and Paul Bettany in the thriller, Firewall. Last year, he starred in The Amityville Horror, voiced a character in the video game, Kingdom Hearts II, had a guest starring role on The WB hit show, Everwood, and was a voice in the animated film, The Polar Express.

So needless to say, he's been a busy boy; and his life is about to get a whole lot busier in the coming months. You'll be able to catch Jimmy May 12th in the Warner Bros. film, Poseidon; and next year, he'll be in the ever popular sequel to Bruce Almighty, Evan Almighty, which stars funny-man, Steve Carell.

I caught up with Jimmy on set of Evan Almighty where he gave a bit away about his character and working with Steve Carell. Here's a little bit of our chat:

What have you been doing so far on the set?

Jimmy Bennett: It's actually been really fun; we get to build an ark, so it's pretty cool.

Have you been working with Steve a lot?

Jimmy Bennett: Yeah.

Have you been able to keep a straight face yet?

Jimmy Bennett: No, like in the middle of the scene, he's off camera and he was telling us stuff. There was a moment of silence and he just scared us, and I made the funniest face. When I got scared, my face was just like, 'Oh my gosh,' and it was so funny and I couldn't stop laughing. So the next scene, I was still laughing and it was really hard to keep a straight face. But I managed.

Who do you play in that?

Jimmy Bennett: I play Ryan and he's just kind of this animal freak; he likes all these animals. He comes up with all these weird lines like 'A yak has hair on the bottom of his pee' and 'Swans are the only birds with penises,' and stuff like that, and weird stuff.

Yeah, he's not as innocent as you think, huh. I'll have more with Jimmy as he talks about doing his own stunts in Poseidon and working with Richard Dreyfuss.

Once again, you can check out Jimmy, along with Kurt Russell, the beautiful Emmy Rossum, and Jacinda Barrett (who plays Jimmy's mom in the film) in Poseidon - that hits theaters May 12th; it's rated PG-13. Evan Almighty opens next June.
