The Broken Lizard comedy troupe (Jay Chandrasekhar, Erik Stolhanske, Steve Lemme, Kevin Heffernan, and Paul Soter) burst onto the scene with their 2002 hit Super Troopers. Ever since then, die-hard fans have been impatiently awaiting a follow-up to this outlandish comedy. I recently had the chance to speak with writer-director-actor Jay Chandrasekhar about his new movie The Babymakers, arriving on Blu-ray and DVD September 18. We also talked about the status of this long-awaited sequel, Super Troopers 2.

It seems there is some sort of legal snafu standing in the way of this project getting off the ground. Take a look at what he had to say, including an update on Pot Quest.

"We have a legal situation we have to sort of resolve with Fox, before Super Troopers 2 can happen. We're close to some resolution, one way or another. We don't know. We hope so. In terms of Pot Quest, we just really have to write it. We're a little stacked up on other jobs right now, but I have opened the file and started typing away on it. I believe both movies will happen, it just may be a little while."

For those that don't recall, Pot Quest was briefly teased at the end of Broken Lizard's Beerfest. Kevin Heffernan revealed back in 2010 that the sequel was being set up at Universal Pictures, although we haven't heard anything else regarding the project since then.
