Actor Ryan Gosling reteams with his Blue Valentine director Derek Cianfrance for the searing drama The Place Beyond the Pines, which also stars Eva Mendes, Bradley Cooper, Emory Cohen, and Dane DeHaan. The story follows a circus stunt rider who discovers that he has an illegitimate son with a woman from his past. He gives up his life as a traveling performer to instead focus on his child, thus entering a world of crime to keep his needs in check.
