The word versatile could definitely describe Tyrese Gibson. The actor, who is also an accomplished rapper and R&B singer with four albums to his name, is best known for his roles in big action films like 2 Fast 2 Furious, Death Race, Transformers and its extremely successful sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen but the actor/singer is also a successful comic book writer. Gibson co-wrote a three-issue mini-series for Image Comics with Mike Le and Will Wilson called "Mayhem!" that was released last summer. Drawn by artist Tone Rodriguez, "Mayhem!" tells the story of a modern-day masked vigilante with a dark and mysterious past, named Dante, who decides to take back the city of Los Angeles from the criminal underworld. Because the character of Dante shares a striking resemblance to Gibson himself, there have been rumors since the release of the first issue that perhaps there would eventually be a film version of the comic starring Gibson in the lead role.

We recently had an opportunity to chat with Tyrese Gibson while he was out doing promotion for his new film, Legion, in theaters on January 22nd. The actor, who confessed to us that he is a big fan of Movieweb, talked a bit about his comic and how much he enjoyed working on it. "It was a lot of fun," he said. He also told us that the mini-series has been made in to a digital motion-comic and it is currently available for purchase on iTunes. We followed up by asking the actor if he had any plans of adapting his comic into a feature film starring himself as Dante? "We'll see man..." the actor smiled and said cautiously. "We're talking about it," Gibson concluded.

We were unable to get any more information out of the actor about the project at this time but we will let you know when further details are revealed. For now, you can see Tyrese Gibson battling an army of the undead in his new movie, Legion, opening in theaters on January 22nd and be sure to check back with us in a few weeks to see our exclusive interview with Gibson and his fellow cast mates from the new film.
