Australian actor Joel Edgerton is best known to audiences in the United States as the young Owen Lars, stepbrother to Anakin and future Uncle to Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. In fact, Edgerton's own brother, Nash, was actually the stunt double for Ewan McGregor, who played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequel trilogy. But now Nash has moved into the director's chair with a script written by Joel in the new Australian neo-noir thriller, The Square, opening in theaters on April 9th and featuring Joel in a supporting role. We recently had a chance to sit down with Joel and Nash Edgerton to discuss their new film; it's intriguing plot, interesting characters and what it's like to collaborate with your own brother. Escaping the monotony of a loveless marriage, Raymond (David Roberts) becomes entangled in an affair with the beautiful and troubled Carla (Claire van der Boom). Ray's moral limits are tested when Carla presents him with the proceeds of her controlling husband's latest crime. This is their chance: take the money and run. If only it were that simple. The seed is planted and Ray, fearing he will lose his love, engineers the plan. Hiring a professional arsonist becomes a fatal error, and the plan goes horribly wrong. Alarm bells sound and suspicions are raised, but miraculously, the dust looks to settle. After all ... nobody knows. Then the first blackmail note arrives. The couple's nerves are tested as both Carla's husband and the mystery author threaten to throw open their secret. With the blackmailers deadline approaching they are going to find out just how far they are willing to go for love.
