Director Karan Johar is one of the most successful young filmmakers in Bollywood. After beginning his career as an actor in the Bollywood film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Johar made his directorial debut with the 1998 film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, which won eight Filmfare awards. But it was his 2005 film Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna that solidified his status as one of the most popular Bollywood directors around by becoming the highest grossing overseas film of all time. Now Johar is back with his new film, My Name Is Khan opening on May 7th, which is about a Muslim man with Asperger's syndrome who begins an incredible journey across America looking for love and redemption. We recently had an opportunity to sit down with Karan Johar and talk about his new film; it's difficult themes and the challenges of bringing this story to an international audience.
