The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, opening in theaters on March 19th, is the hit Swedish film based on the bestselling novel by Swedish author and journalist Stieg Larsson, which was the first book from his hugely popular "Millennium Series." In fact, the film was such a success in its native country that they have already shot and released two sequels of the film based on the other books from the series. Not to mention that Sony Pictures is planning an American remake of the movie (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) with a script written by Steve Zaillian (American Gangster) and interest from actors like Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Johnny Depp and directors including Ridley Scott, Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino. While The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is about to open here in the states, there is still no U.S. release dates planned for its subsequent sequels. We recently had an opportunity to sit down with the film's director Niels Arden Oplev and the film series' star, actress Noomi Rapace to discuss the movie, adapting the novel, the film's difficult material and it's non-stop action and intrigue.
