Warner Bros. has acquired the new sci-fi script from Gregg Hurwitz entitled Expulsion, according to Deadline New York.

The story centers on a terrorist attack that completely destroys Earth and the small group of survivors who venture out in search of another planet to inhabit. Brad Weston is on board to produce the new project. Warner Bros. is also developing another outer-space project, Gravity, with Robert Downey Jr. attached to star, although they still haven't found the female lead yet.

Gregg Hurwitz is best known as a consulting producer on the ABC sci-fi series V and his novel, They're Watching is currently being developed into a feature film by David Dobkin and Jeff Kleeman.
