Less than a week after Warner Bros. Discovery announced the cancelation of Batgirl, and days later re-iterated their position that The Flash would still be releasing next summer, Ezra Miller has added another reason for the studio to question whether they have backed the wrong horse. After numerous complaints being raised against the beleaguered star, and ongoing worrying activity, they have now been charged with felony burglary in Stamford, Vermont according to a new report.

Miller has been constantly in the public eye this year for a series of misdemeanors that have led many to question whether Warner Bros. Discovery is able to continue on with the release of the movie if things don’t change soon. Miller has hit the headlines several times since April for incidents in Hawaii, Germany and a historical incident in Iceland, as well as reports claiming that the actor is traveling around with guns and body armor due to living in fear of the FBI and the KKK. This latest incident is probably the least troubling issue that Miller has been involved in, but coming in the wake of everything else, it just seems like it is going to be a long year ahead before The Flash is due to hit cinemas.

As per Variety, the police report states that the incident happened on May 1, when Vermont State Police were called to a property where several bottles of alcohol had been stolen from while the owners were not present. Following a review of CCTV footage and collection statements, it was decided that there was probable cause to charge Miller. Miller was finally located by the police on August 8 and they have been issued with a citation to appear in court on September 26.

Ezra Miller as The Flash

Just a few years ago, Ezra Miller made their debut in the DCEU as Barry Allen and appeared to be a popular choice amongst fans. Following the release of Justice League, it was announced that Miller would play The Flash in a solo movie, which is finally now set to debut in theaters in June 2023. However, despite Miller making a surprise appearance in the finale of James Gunn’s Peacemaker series, their name has been mostly associated with numerous brushes with the law for various reasons including claims of harassment, verbal abuse, assault and alleged kidnapping.

In the past, Warner Bros. stood by the actor, and earlier this week it seemed that the stance of Warner Bros. Discovery continues to be the same. However, this is now yet another incident that has seen Miller heading to a courtroom, and with so long to go until The Flash is due to hit cinemas it once again raises questions of how Warner Bros. Discovery are going to be able to market a movie with a lead star that has proved not only chaotic, but increasingly unreliable and elusive. While it has already been reported that Miller’s involvement in the DCEU will not extend beyond The Flash, their actions continue to be a major headache for the studio.
