Get an inside look into the making of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore in a new, behind-the-scenes video that introduces us to Dumbledore’s Army. Released courtesy of Warner Bros., the footage offers some insight into this band of heroes, brought together by Jude Law as the Harry Potter legend, who will take the fight to the Dark Wizard Gellert Grindelwald.

“The wizarding worlds in turmoil,” Jude Law says in the video. “Grindelwald has risen and has amassed a greater following, and therefore is a greater threat.” Eddie Redmayne, who returns as the self-proclaimed magizoologist Newt Scamander, soon follows, explaining that, “Dumbledore has recruited this group of wizards to fight against his nemesis.”

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will once again drop audiences in the 1930s. The story leads up to the Wizarding World's involvement in World War II and will explore the magical communities in Bhutan, Germany, and China in addition to previously established locations including the United States and United Kingdom. With Gellert Grindelwald's power rapidly growing, Albus Dumbledore entrusts Newt Scamander and his friends with a mission leading to a clash with Grindelwald's army. Dumbledore must also decide how long he will stay on the sidelines in the approaching war.

"This is a band of outsiders who come together to perform this mission. Every single one of them is an outsider and doesn't really belong but does belong as part of this group," producer David Heyman adds in the newly released behind-the-scenes clip. "The army that is created is a bit like Dumbledore's Army in the Harry Potter films, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Dean but now Newt, Lally, Bunty, Kama, Theseus, and Jacob."

The third installment in the Harry Potter prequel series, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is directed by David Yates from a screenplay by J. K. Rowling and Steve Kloves. The sequel to 2018’s Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald stars a large ensemble cast that includes, Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Ezra Miller as Aurelius Dumbledore, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, Callum Turner as Theseus Scamander, William Nadylam as Yusuf Kama, and Richard Coyle as Aberforth Dumbledore, among others.

The threequel will finally see Jude Law’s Albus Dumbledore do battle with his childhood friend-turned-enemy, Gellert Grindelwald, this time played by Hannibal, and Doctor Strange star Mads Mikkelsen, who takes over the role from Johnny Depp.

"I'm so happy to be in this company and I'm so happy to be playing this character. It feels like every day we make these films, it feels like such a blessing," Jude Law said of his involvement in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. "And there's also such a sense of well, it's the reverence I suppose, because they hold such a special place in so many people. Hold people's hearts and lives. I've never really felt that the way I have on this job. The responsibility that comes with that. But it's a beautiful thing too it's like being given a really precious artifact or something that you have to look after, maybe clean up a bit. You know?"

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is scheduled for release on April 15, 2022.
